SPLASH LITERACY WORKSHOP
Lesson Planning
This is the easy part.
Let’s reduce the cognitive load for you and your students.
Duration
90 minutes
this workshop is for…
teachers and principals who are time-poor but want proven templates to achieve literacy success.Â
This workshop will cover
- Why a low variance lesson plan will help your students learn
- Examples of easy to adapt lesson plans, including all the essential steps
- Time to work together to develop a lesson plan with your student’s learning needs in mind and get feedback and support from our literacy specialist
Research inform us that when routines are followed, student’s cognitive load is reduced and their working memory ‘desk space’ is available for new learning.
The lesson plan will assist you in presenting any new literacy skill to be learnt by the students, from a speech to print perspective, which is effective in both spelling and decoding.
The steps in an explicit lesson plan will be discussed and the relevance of each step explained; including review of previously learnt skills, establishing a clear learning intention, and a measure of success where not only the students will understand their own achievement but teachers will be informed of the effectiveness of their teaching.
In this workshop we give you examples of lesson plans and time to develop a lesson plan with your students’ learning needs in mind. We will provide you with feedback to guide you in your approach to impactful teaching plans.
